Introduction

Let's bring the magic of Christmas to the pediatric intensive care unit of the HUG!

For many children, Christmas is the most beautiful day of the year with the tree, the decorated house, the Christmas songs and of course the long awaited presents.

However, not all children will be able to open their presents under the tree. We know how difficult it is to spend this holiday season in the hospital. This is one of the reasons why we decided to set up the "Magic of Christmas in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit" project, in order to bring joy and to allow parents to see their children's eyes filled with wonder when they discover their gifts.
It is also essential to think of the medical staff and thank them for their dedication to all these children during the holidays.

By participating in this project, bring a smile to everyone's face and make this festive season a joyful one.

Project details

This project concerns all the children from 0 to 16 years old of the pediatric intensive care unit of the HUG, their parents, as well as the medical staff.

The project consists in the purchase of :  

Christmas gifts for children

• 0 to 2 years old: a blanket and a cuddly toy from the My Little Room boutique My Little Room

• 2 to 5 years old: a LEGO DUPLO steam train

• 6 to 8 years old : a DOBBLE board game and a dinosaur figurine or a Jazwares plush for girls.

• Ages 9 to 16: a Game Factory tummple board game and a SmartGames IQ Puzzler Pro game!

For the toys, we shopped at the Franz Carl Weber toy storeFranz Carl Weber

Breakfast for parents and medical staff

• A trio of pastries (a mini croissant, a mini pain au chocolat and a mini pain au sucre)

• 33cl of freshly squeezed orange juice

We have called upon Pâtisserie Mage for the above products as well as for the delivery.
